Advice - Rogue Traders and Cold Callers

The Goole Neighbourhood team have received a report in the Airmyn area relating to a male, presenting as an ex prisoner , going door to door selling items. When the resident politely declined the male became abusive. Incident 0332 11/10/2025 refers.

Officers have made enquiries to identify the male who left the area in a white Nissan van. Unfortunately the VRM of the vehicle came back as no trace so appears to be false.

Please be aware that genuine traders who sell goods door to door are required to have a pedlars licence issued by the police.

If you suspect that an unwanted caller is not genuine, please take care of yourself and home security. Be vigilant to suspicious activity and people where you live and report this via 101, our non emergency number.
